Garmin Eire Discoverer - Topographic Maps for Ireland

Garmin anounced the launch of a new series of topographic maps for Ireland that lot of us have been patiently waiting for. Detailed mapping combines the Ordnance Survey Ireland 1:50000 map series with Navteq road data and points of interests providing turn-by-turn directions to your destination. Topographic data includes terrain contours, topo elevations, summits, paths, routable roads and geographical points. The NAVTEQ road data is the same as you can see preloaded on Garmin satnav products.

Maps are available on microSD™/SD™ cards from us. Compatible products are as follows:

Colorado 300, 400c, 400i, 400t; Dakota 20; Nuvi 500, 550; Oregon 200, 300, 400c, 400i, 400t, 550, 550t

Topographic maps are available for four different regions:

 

nuMaps Lifetime subscription

A new way to pay for map updates on Garmin in-car navigation products 

Pay Once - Update for Lifetime of the unit

If you are a Garmin user you can now instead of paying for an update every year purchase a nüMaps Lifetime subscription that enables you to download the latest map detail (streets, highways and points of interest) available. This one-time, single purchase gives you access to the newest map detail for the lifetime of your device.

A new update should be available as often as every three months.

This update option is compatible with the following products:

Colorado 300, 400c, 400i, 400t; Dakota 20; eTrex Legend HCx, Cx; eTrex Venture Cx; eTrex Vista HCx, Cx; Garmin Mobile PC; GPSMAP 60CSx, Cx; GPSMAP 620, 640; GPSMAP 76CSx, Cx; Nuvi 1200, 1300, 1400 series; Nuvi 1690, 465T, 5000; Nuvi 200 and 200W series; Nuvi 300 series; Nuvi 500, 600, 700, 800 series; Nuvifone G60; Oregon series; Rino 520HCx, 530HCx; StreetPilot 7200, 7500, i5; C300 series, C500 series; Zumo series

The updates are made available on Garmin's website for one compatible Garmin product until your product's useful life expires. The updates you receive under the subscription will update the same maps that were originally preloaded on your Garmin product when purchased.

Garmin won't allow your subscription to be transferred to another person or another Garmin product.

How can you buy it
You can buy from us. We sell the lifetime updates subscription card for € 110 incl. VAT and postage. Just give us a call or send us an email and we will contact you. You will receive the activation card from us in the post.

How will it work
At the back of the activation card uncover the Product Key and visit the following link https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/lifetimeActivationLogin.htm to activate your nuMaps lifetime subscription.

When you want to update your maps, visit Garmin website ( www.garmin.com ), connect your device to your computer via USB cable and log into your myGarmin account. If the latest map data is available it will be ready to load to your device.

In some instances, your Garmin product might not have sufficient memory to load an update to the same map data originally preloaded in which case you will need to select reduced map data coverage for your updates. Or add a suitable SD card.

You can sign up for an email notification if you want Garmin to email you when the newest data is available.

City Navigator Europe NT 2010 Update (One-Time)

Pay Once - Update Once

A one-time update update replaces your maps on a Garmin device with the most recent map detail available at the time of purchase.

One nüMaps Onetime update will update maps on one compatible Garmin device.

Check for updates

For PC users this will also update MapSource City Navigator Europe NT stand-alone version when used with eTrex Legend Cx, Venture Cx, Vista Cx, GPSMAP 276, 376, 60Cx, 60CSx, 76Cx, 76CSx, Colorado, Oregon and other selected outdoors units.

The update is good for only one device. For every Garmin device that you want update, you will need to purchase a new one.

To check if your maps are up to date visit http://garmin.com/unlock/update.jsp .

To check if you are entitled to a free update register your unit within myGarmin (https://my.garmin.com ). If the unit is entitled to any free update, a warning will be displayed that the update is available for free of charge ordering.

Users that own pre-loaded microSD/SD cards for City Navigator Europe NT must purchase a new card at full price to access the new version.

Navteq who supply garmin with the road detail for Ireland depend on users making them aware of new roads, new layouts, errors and omissions. If you have identified one of these you can report it at NAVTEQ MAP REPORTER.

nüMaps Guarantee program

Garmin also announced the availability of nüMaps Guarantee program which will assure that when customers start using their new Garmin, they will have free access to the latest version of road maps if such update is available within 60 days of the first use.

Customer will not qualify for the free map update if the unit is registered with Garmin by telephone or more than 60 days from the unit's first satellite acquisition.

The map nüMaps Guarantee is only applicable to preloaded maps for North America and Europe maps only.

To check if there is a free update available for your Garmin unit, register the unit at http://my.garmin.com within 60 days of the first use (this is based on the first time the unit has acquired satellites). If new map data is available anytime during that 60-day period, you can request and download the new data - free of charge - by following simple online prompts.

If you are eligible for a free map update, you will be given a specific number of days from the date you register your product to order the free map update. If you do not order the free map update within the specified number of days of registering your product, you may purchase the map update.
